Thanks to Donald and Thiago for clearly pointing out that this *has* to be avoided. I will change the code accordingly.
@Srdjan: It is "work in progress": The class originally was a circularbuffer, which is now extend to larger fuctionality. Further explanation would exceed the intend of this thread.
