Alas, I did not spot those posts at the time (I've been too snowed under
to be doing much reading there) and I can no longer reply :(

Is there another way I can pass my feedback along?  The points he and
the commenters list are very close to mine, but I have a few more that
I'd like to see.

I have some pretty major complaints with CMake as well, one of which is
what I'm struggling with at this very moment...
