AFAIK the mingw compiler can't handle the Windows SDK (DirectX) headers. So unfortunatelly you won't be able to compile Phonon support with MinGW :( At least that's what I have last heard. This is NOT a Qt issue, this is a MinGW issue with the DirectX headers, and in the end it is not even a technical issue, but rather a legal issue - or so I understand... but things might have changed.

If not, you have to use the MS compiler... (e.g. the Express version)
