Um, check me if I'm wrong, but if you are going to develop an
application using Qt, whether that application is on the PC or on a
mobile device, you're going to need a *commercial* Qt license. If you
are going to make profit, then Nokia (rightly) expects to make a profit
as well.

Given the sizable license fee for the commercial use of Qt, I'd see that
as a large obstacle to having a lot of mobile developers wanting to use
it for their $0.99US fart-generating Android application. Unless I'm
mistaken, the iPhone and Android SDKs are free, so I have to wonder if
the effort on Nokia's part to port Qt to ride atop those would be worth
the return.

The world needs more cults. They attract stupidity like a
magnet attracts metal, and they're self cleaning.

Consider yourself checked.

QT since QT 4.5 is now under the LGPL, which allows for commercial use
without paying a dime to nokia. This ofcourse is always followed with I
am not a lawyer, but frankly this move LGPL, makes QT the greates
framework... EVER.. J
