Not exactly, but who wants to add all of KDE as a dependency to an app for 
just one function. That's a lot of work, extra packaging, bloat to apps, 
etc. If the functionality is important enough, sure, or if you want to 
make a KDE app that uses lots of other KDE functions, but if you're just 
making a Qt app, the less dependencies the better... (especially for 
mobile apps). My $.02.
