That's a difficult question to answer. It depends on what you think 'all of 
KDE' is and why you think you'd need all of it for odt features. I might 
need to blow away myths before even beginning to create an answer. It's not 
all roses of course, but it's almost certainly not as bad as you think, (or 
as bad as I thought when I started investigating).
