I might agree with you on that point, Scott. However, going back to the
original post, I am concerned about Qt's "desktop" support. No matter how
long you live, you will never see a special-effects-laden television show or
movie produced exclusively using a $.99 "App" on some $300 mobile hardware.
It won't ever happen. They will always be using high-performance desktop
applications running on incredibly expensive, stand-alone computer systems.
And this is only one example.
These traditional types of "desktop" applications need a toolkit as well. If
it's not Qt, that's fine. I'd just rather it would be. :)
