The plan is to just have QtMultimediaKit (QtMultimedia will be removed - it's a subset of QtMMK anyway).  The existing QtMMK support for desktops (that was never turned on in the deliveries in the Qt SDK :/) will continue to exist and be developed.

I think for Qt 5 the current Qt Phonon code will be removed, since it's terribly out of date.  In 4.8 it's still there, of course.
