Compile of alpha package + patch above was successful on Ubuntu 11.10 
w/gcc 4.6.1.

shows designer running.

I had an initial compile break at QtXmlPatterns, but it turned out I had 
an unclean environment (internal qset tool set to a different directory, 
'qset none' fixed that). But after cleaning up that mess it completed 
successfully.

Only platform missing now for a T1 coverage is OSX. Any takers?
