My first attempt at using the windows thingie made me notice this:

it says during install

This package requires MinGW with GCC 4.4 ...

If you do not have a MinGW with GCC 4.4 installed, you can download it
from the Customer Portal:
http://qt.digia.com/download

but on that page, I see no links to getting the lerevant gcc 4.4
