[17:02:05] <jaheikki3> Time to start Qt release team meeting
[17:02:15] <jaheikki3> On agenda today:
[17:02:15] <jaheikki3> Qt5.3 Beta release
[17:02:15] <jaheikki3> Qt Enginio officially added as part of Add-ons for Qt 5.3.0
[17:02:15] <jaheikki3> Qt 4.8.6 status
[17:02:15] <jaheikki3> Any additional item?
[17:03:25] <jaheikki3> ok, let's start from Qt5.3 beta release
[17:04:02] <jaheikki3> plan is to release beta this thursday
[17:04:46] <jaheikki3> qt5.git was integrated during the weekend
[17:04:57] <jaheikki3> printer changes aren't still in
[17:05:10] <jaheikki3> either merge from release branch
[17:05:30] <jaheikki3> Both of those are under integration at the moment
[17:05:45] <jaheikki3> if integration succeed then new qt5.git integration
[17:06:01] <carewolf> won't we do a merge from release branch in all cases? There might be a patch or two that went that way due to importance
[17:06:04] <fregl> hi :)
[17:06:07] <fkleint> either merge from release branch?
[17:06:25] <fregl> carewolf: release->stable is all done but the qtbase one afaict
[17:06:44] <fregl> carewolf: I checked all modules in my qt5 git checkout at least
[17:08:12] <jaheikki3> So needed beta content should be in after that
[17:08:45] <jaheikki3> hoping we could get snapshot with these changes available durin tomorrow for testing
[17:09:25] <fkleint> kkoehne_: We have an exit crash in Creator though https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTCREATORBUG-11746
[17:10:14] <kkoehne_> fkleint: nice
[17:10:28] <jaheikki3> fkleint: kkoehne_: :(
[17:10:57] <jaheikki3> Any idea when that can be fixed?
[17:11:01] <fkleint> I pinged Simon,THartmann & usual suspects
[17:11:05] <fkleint> but I don;'t have any idea
[17:11:58] <jaheikki3> And this is so common that we cannot do beta without fixing it?
[17:12:11] <fkleint> Hrm, exiting Creator is quite common
[17:12:28] <fkleint> I mean, an exit crash is sth belongs to an Alpha...
[17:13:09] <jaheikki3> true
[17:13:34] <jaheikki3> Does someone know something else which is blocking beta?
[17:14:10] <fkleint> https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-36712 ?
[17:14:22] <fkleint> has some issues, and of course the printer stuff
[17:15:31] <jaheikki3> Yes, there is still few open but those should be fixed soon
[17:16:04] <jaheikki3> it has been agreed that printer stuff doesn't block the beta: If those are in good, if not then those will be part of 5.4
[17:16:34] <fkleint> oki, so current integration decides it?
[17:16:37] <fkleint> yep, ok
[17:16:52] <fkleint> they started disabling printer tests, which I think is a bad idea
[17:16:55] <fkleint> anyways
[17:17:09] <jaheikki3> Yeah
[17:17:59] <jaheikki3> But let's try to close remaining issues from https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-36712 as soon as possible & try do release beta this thursday if possible
[17:18:58] <jaheikki3> Then Qt Enginio officially added as part of Add-ons for Qt 5.3.0:
[17:19:34] <jaheikki3> Discussion of that started well before Alpha but wasn't concluded earlier
[17:20:29] <jaheikki3> Last week Jędrek sent conclusion mail, see http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2014-March/016078.html
[17:21:19] <jaheikki3> Enginio has been in online packages since 5.2.0 so I don't see any reason to add it as official add-on in 5.3.0
[17:21:30] <jaheikki3> Ok for everyone?
[17:22:16] <carewolf> what is the difference?
[17:23:11] <jaheikki3> Actually nothing else but then enginio will be part of official src delivery as well
[17:23:41] <jaheikki3> It will be included in offline installers like it was in online ones earlier
[17:24:54] <jaheikki3> Here is a bug report related to this: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-37117
[17:26:08] <akseli> +1 for enginio as official add-on
[17:26:12] <carewolf> is it even license compatible, isn't it commercial only or is that controlled through the service side?
[17:27:13] <jaheikki3> it is controlled in service side. And it is part of LGPL online packages since 5.2.0
[17:28:13] <carewolf> okay, unless it is a huge burden why not include it then.
[17:29:16] <fkleint> *BREAKING NEWS: Printing went in!
[17:29:28] <jaheikki3> GREAT!
[17:29:41] <carewolf> Yay
[17:29:56] <jaheikki3> Ok, then 4.8.6 status: akseli^
[17:30:16] <akseli> New snapshot available http://download.qt-project.org/snapshots/qt/4.8/2014-03-17_517/ build against HEAD and with mingw482 upgrade agreed last week
[17:30:23] <akseli> Snapshot is not yet announced on mailing lists but will be later
[17:30:34] <fkleint> carewolf: Wait until you try printing from WebKit with that stuff.........
[17:30:51] <akseli> We still need at least rebuild configure.exe before RC which hopefully can be done during this week
[17:31:09] <carewolf> should we try to get the recently mentioned aarch64 patches into 4.8.6 before it goes out?
[17:31:20] <carewolf> fkleint: yay :(
[17:32:12] <akseli> carewolf: yes, hopefully all required changes are already available on gerrit
[17:33:03] <akseli> but i guess that's brief summary from Qt4.8.6
[17:33:54] <jaheikki3> OK, any question?
[17:34:06] <jaheikki3> Or something else to handle at this time?
[17:35:31] <akseli> jaheikki3: next meeting
[17:35:55] <jaheikki3> I think we should have next meeting next mondat at this same time
[17:36:00] <jaheikki3> Monday ;)
[17:36:23] <fkleint> with some champagne to celebrate the beta..
[17:36:39] <jaheikki3> Let's hope so!
[17:37:03] <fkleint> Ah,btw, WebKit is still missing from 64bit Win packages
[17:37:29] <fkleint> Anybody know the status, and why doen;t the package script bail out, then?
[17:37:42] <jaheikki3> fkleint: Antti was fixing that, let's hope it will be fixed in next packages
[17:37:49] <fkleint> Ok, fingers crossed
[17:38:06] <carewolf> jaheikki3: is there a bug on it?
[17:38:34] <jaheikki3> carewolf: no
[17:38:39] <ankokko_> fkleint: jaheikki3: should be fixed, we had a "bug" on our Jenkins configuration
[17:38:50] <jaheikki3> great!
[17:39:01] <carewolf> ahh, good
[17:39:02] <fkleint> ok, and hopefull ythe script now has error handling for this?
[17:40:00] <fkleint> jaheikki3: Just found that the examples/quick/embeddedinwidgets sample has the same cvrash
[17:40:08] <fkleint> so, it is not Creator's fault
[17:40:26] <jaheikki3> Ok
[17:40:36] <jaheikki3> I have a bit hurry now :( So let's end this meeting now & do our best to be able to release beta this Thu.
[17:40:47] <fkleint> ok,bye
[17:40:52] <jaheikki3> Thanks for everyone & bye!
[17:41:00] <ankokko_> bye
[17:41:04] <akseli> bye
