[17:01:12] <vohi[M]> jaheikki3: pong
[17:01:21] <akseli> jaheikki3: pong
[17:02:24] <jaheikki3> Time to start qt release team meeting
[17:02:32] <jaheikki3> on agenda today:
[17:02:41] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.9 status
[17:02:47] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.9 FF exceptions
[17:02:54] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:03:53] <jaheikki3> Let's start from Qt 6.9 status
[17:04:34] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.9 Feature freeze is in effect and branching from 'dev' to '6.9' done, see https://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2024-December/045965.html
[17:04:51] <jaheikki3> Beta1 preparations are ongoing
[17:05:23] <jaheikki3> dependency update round succeed in '6.9' and package creation is ongoing
[17:05:48] <jaheikki3> The target is to start package testing tomorrow
[17:06:38] <thiago> doesn't that have to wait for the dependency update?
[17:06:59] <jaheikki3> And if packages are good enough for Beta1 we will release those as Qt 6.9.0 beta1
[17:07:07] <jaheikki3> thiago: it already succeed
[17:07:40] <jaheikki3> the target is to release Qt 6.9 beta1 during next week
[17:08:07] <jaheikki3> that's actually all about Qt 6.9 status. Any comments or questions?
[17:09:25] <jaheikki3> Ok, then Qt 6.9 FF exceptions:
[17:09:40] <jaheikki3> There is 3 exception requests so far:
[17:10:02] <jaheikki3> * 4 new padding properties to Application Window (https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtdeclarative/+/605277)
[17:10:20] <jaheikki3> * Add ContextMenu (https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtdeclarative/+/554020)
[17:10:40] <jaheikki3> * exporting symbols in the QTestGui namespace (https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+/610419)
[17:11:46] <jaheikki3> Is there any objections or should we grant exceptions for all those?
[17:11:48] <thiago> the QTestGui doesn't look like a new feature to me
[17:11:52] <thiago> but +1 for it anyway
[17:12:05] <vohi[M]> I'm ok with all three, as long as they make it before beta 2; ApplicationWindow has merged already; the ContextMenu addition validates a bunch of changes under the hood that enable this, and are somewhat meaningless to have without the feature; and the QTestGui namespace additions are primarily internal APIs used by testing tools such as Squish to help decouple Squish from specific Qt internals.
[17:12:34] <vohi[M]> > ApplicationWindow has merged already;
[17:12:34] <vohi[M]> to dev, that is, so needs manual cherry-pick
[17:13:43] <jaheikki3> +1 from me as well for all three
[17:15:12] <jaheikki3> It seems there is no objections so let's grant exceptions for all three ( as long as they make it before beta 2)
[17:15:40] <jaheikki3> It was all at this time so let's end this meeting now & have new one tue 17th December at this same time
[17:15:50] <jaheikki3> thanks for your participation, bye!
[17:16:35] <vohi[M]> thanks, bye!
