For what it's worth, I know Stephan Binner keeps a bunch of PPAs with
Qt builds for Ubuntu Xenial, which I guess _may_ work on Debian
stretch (?).

I've only tried those builds briefly, and it was quite a while ago
(they install to /opt btw).
