have you added your assets catalogue to .pro ?

QMAKE_ASSET_CATALOGS = $$PWD/ios/Images.xcassets
QMAKE_ASSET_CATALOGS_APP_ICON = "AppIcon"

my assets are here:
<project>
    /ios
        /Images.xcassets
            /AppIcon.appiconset
                Contents.json
                ... my icons ...
