Thanks William.  My queries would be going over the Internet to a remote 
machine also, so perhaps in such cases any differences in the database 
protocol may be washed out.  Still, my background for local databases has 
the wisdom to avoid ODBC if at all possible for performance reasons.

Why is the Qt TDS driver being deprecated?
