Hi,
Don't get me wrong, but it seems to me that your are more pissed off
with the process being used than because of the actual file missing.
The file can be generated again if you submit a patch reverting the
removal and getting a +1 from all the other package/distro maintainers.
But, I'd expect the reason behind this revert being told in the commit
message, something in the lines of:
- I can't do my work without the .bz2 file
- My machines don't support any of the other formats out there
- Before it took me 1 min and now 1 hr to just decompress the file
- There is no way to make this to work with the current files
I don't think that comments like
- I am lazy
- I love .bz2
- I don't like .gz
- .xz is too new
- I don't know how to use the new .xz
would make people to give a +2 though
Actually, I'd like to have just one format for *Unix-alike and one for
Windows, nothing else.
